Mirek Trejtnar
Mirek Trejtnar graduated with high honors from the puppet design department of the Prague Academy of Performing Arts (DAMU).In 1989 he started the KID Company, designing and producing wooden puppets, toys and sculpture. Mirek's art has been exhibited around the world. He has designed puppets for numerous productions in the Czech Republic and internationally. He also produces puppets and scenery for animated film. Mirek has taught puppet-making and scene design for the Prague Academy of Performing Arts, St. Martin’s College of Design in London, New York University in Prague, Chapito Circus Academy in Lisbon, Portugal, and in Macao and Hong Kong. Since 1999 he and his wife have been organizing PIP workshops.
Zdar Sorm
Zdar Sorm has worked as a designer and artist in the Jiri Trnka animated film studio for over twenty years. He has made puppets, props, scenery for dozens of Czech animated films, and is an expert on technological design. He also works as a woodcarver and makes his own original marionettes. At PIP workshops he focuses on helping students with woodcarving, use of chisels and sharpening tools.
