To launch our 2025-26 Automata Fundamtentals Online Workshop, we are offering the first session for FREE! Learn how to make simple mechanisms for Automata and learn about our plans for the entire year.
WHEN: September 14, 7-9 p.m. Central European Time
WHERE: Zoom platform
Simple Mechanisms will teach you several simple automata that you can easily make at home with scrap wood, clothespins, and other materials that are easily sourced. On September 14, you will learn the basic principles of making automata and instructions on how to make several mechanisms. If you sign up for our second session on September 28, you can construct a prototype and present it. We will also teach you how to make a wooden box that is the basis for all automata.
Our Automata Fundamentals Course will run from September 2025 to April 2026. It will be taught by Mirek Trejtnar, expert woodcarver, toymaker and automata builder. You will get regular consultations at this highly individualized course. You will also see the work of fellow students throughout the course.
