Last Spots in June Workshop!

Updated: Apr 16

CARVING, PUPPET FESTIVALS, PUPPET SLAM, EXHIBITIONS, AND MAGICAL PRAGUE – 2 weeks of life-changing experiences in the puppet capital of the world! We still have a few spots in our June 2024 Marionette Carving Workshop, taking place in Prague where you carve a marionette of your own design and immerse yourself in the world of Czech puppetry.

What is it like? This is how our former student Christina Bain described it in our No Strings Attached blog :

"I arrive in Prague and the workshop is everything I ever dreamed of and more. The walls are littered with puppets of every shape and size. There are tools and toys and paints and fabric, work benches and mini theatres, books on puppetry and puppet making, the workshop is like something out of a Christmas movie. You expect to see Santa and a troop of Elves set to work at the machines"

During the workshop you will also spend two days at the Skupa International Puppet Festival in Plzen in West Bohemia, a fantastic international festival that presents shows by the best Czech puppet companies. You can also see the UBU, latest show by Neville Tranter of the legendary Stuffed Puppet Company. And did you know that Plzen has a puppet museum AND a sculpture of marionettes on its main square? (It's not just famous for the Pilsner beer).

Not enough for you? You can also go to Kutna Hora and see an extensive exhibition of the phenomenal Czech surrealist animator Jan Svankmajer. He inspired the work of Tim Burton - who also has an exhibition going on in Prague this June.

What are you waiting for?
