About our presenters
Jackie Penrod received a grant from the Chicago International Puppet Theatre Festival to develop her piece, "Cotton Dragon” in their Puppet Lab. It is about the desctuctive quality of the 19th century cotton industry and uses marionettes that Jackie created with Puppets in Prague over the past several years.

Susie Boeselt will show a clip from her show Goblin Fair created during our 2024 MIniature Marionette workshop. Susie is a graphic designer from S. Australia who has been very active in puppetry since she joined our online workshops during the pandemic. She came to our in person family puppet theatre workshop in 2022 and also studied with the online year-long puppetry program at the University of Connecticut.
Adriana Hollenbeck, an educator of young children, participated in our June 2024 Marionette Carving and 2023+24 Automata Workshops. Since then she has made many puppets and automata which she has tried out with the childern at her school. She will talk about The Language of Puppetry and Early Childhood Education reflecting on the power of puppetry to communicate stories to young children.
