See our August Puppet Show!

You can see our fantastic puppet show based on the Czech fairy tale Zlatovlaska that our August students brought to the Letni Letna Summer Festival in Prague.

Ten students from around the world carved marionettes for a show that they performed at Prague's most popular summer festival. Hundreds of children laughed, gasped and only occasionally cried as they saw this beautiful production, directed by leading Czech puppeteer Peter Varga.

And all with the stunning puppets that they created with Mirek Trejtnar and our team of Czech puppet artists - woodcarvers Zdar Šorm, Ondřej Mašek, Robert Patalon, Antonín Muller and Johana Trejtnar; costume designers Marcela Krčalová and Dana Bruklerová, painter Saša Svolikova.

The story is based on the Czech fairy tale Zlatovlaska (Golden Haired Girl). An evil king wants to marry Princess Zlatovlaska and sends a brave cook to fetch her. Because he ate a magic snake, the cook speaks the language of all animals. On his journey he helps ants, fish, crows and a fly who later help him and Zlatovlaska so there is a happy end.

Puppets created and performed by Pamela San Martin (Kasparek the jester), Ivy Sun (Kalupinka, the jester's wife), Yi Fei Deng (Evil King), Troy Hourie (Wise Woman), Paul Hausemeyer (the cook), Victoria Haslam (Zlatovlaska), Nicole Shreyeck (Queen), Nancy Welch (Good King), Tyler Quick (Fisherman), Daniel Synak (Fish)

Directed by Peter Varga.
