Automata 1: Simple mechanisms, Part 2

About the Workshop

This is a continuation of Simple Mechanisms, Part 1 We will teach you to make more simple automata that you can easily make with materials that are easily sourced. You will also learn to construct a wooden box, which is the base for the contruction of most automata that we will be building in our online course. Each session will be 90 minutes and will meet on Zoom from 7-8:30 p.m. Central European Time. Sessions will be recorded. Our Automata Series will run from September to April 2025. It will be taught by Mirek Trejtnar, expert woodcarver, toymaker and automata builder. You will get regular consultations at this highly individualized course. You will also see the work of fellow students throughout the course. FOR WHOM IS THE WORKSHOP INTENDED? Students should be comfortable working on their own and have some experience working with wood.
